Monta innovates with a smart AI picking robot, taking fulfilment to the next level

The introduction of the Sereact AI Piece Picking Robot.

How does our picking robot work?
Our picking robot is fully integrated with our AutoStore system and our sustainable packing machine in the warehouse in Bleskensgraaf. The process:
AutoStore continuously delivers the correct bin with products to the picking arm.
The robot independently recognizes each item using smart AI and determines the optimal gripping point, enabling a direct action without retries. With three different grippers, the robot automatically selects the right tool for each product or packaging type, based on real-time observations and prior experience.
Orders are assembled by the picking robot and then transferred to the packing machine, making the order processing workflow extremely fast and fully automated.
Self-learning & flexible
A key advantage of our picking robot is its self-learning capability. By experimenting with different products during the picking process, the robot discovers the most effective approach on its own. This knowledge is stored and reused, allowing the robot to continuously improve. As a result, we can easily scale operations, adapt to changing assortments, and maintain flexibility without long training periods or manual reconfiguration.
Results so far:
The robot currently processes approximately 300 picks per hour via a single AutoStore port.
A second port will soon be connected, increasing capacity to around 500 picks per hour.
Fewer errors, higher speed: Customers receive their orders faster and more accurately, even during peak periods such as Black Friday.
Sustainable & efficient: Automation that can ultimately be deployed 24/7 for optimal order processing.
