What is "put to light" hardware, and how does it work?
In put-to-light applications, displays and lights are used to show order pickers which bin needs to be restocked. The system ensures that sorting various orders is faster and more efficient. Order pickers see on a screen which items need to be picked and into which bin they should place each product.
The "put-to-light" system is integrated with our WMS. This gives you real-time insights into your inventory and the status of open orders. The system also shows which products need to be restocked. Replenishment activities are thus optimally aligned with picking operations. This ensures a more efficient workflow in your warehouse.

Put to Light is perfect for processes in which orders must be picked in bulk and sorted at the end of the picking round. This ensures that, for example, 50 orders are picked in a single round. As a result, order pickers have to walk much less in the warehouse, which is physically much less strenuous for a full-time order picker. This technique streamlines the sorting of picked orders into customer orders.

The put-to-light bins can be fully customized. The size of the bins depends on the volume of your sales and the type of product. The software automatically takes product size into account. This way, small orders are assigned to small put-to-light bins, and large orders are assigned to large put-to-light bins based on product dimensions. Put-to-light solutions are available in multiple configurations.
So while we supply systems with compartments, it’s also possible to provide a “put-to-light” system with bins. These bins, each equipped with a barcode, are stored on a rack. Each bin represents an order. Once an order picker has finished bulk-picking the products, they sort them into the bins. As soon as the order is complete, a green light turns on and the bin is moved toward the packer.
