Printing Labels with a Thermal Label Printer
There are several ways to print labels. The traditional method is ink-based printing. The downside of using an ink-based label printer is that you have to replace the toner cartridges regularly. Moreover, cartridges are relatively expensive. With a thermal label printer, these problems disappear like snow in the sun. This printer is compact and easy to move around. It takes up very little space on your workstation, and you’re also being environmentally friendly. A win-win, in other words.
A thermal label printer uses a heat-sensitive coating. This coating is activated by a print head that heats the label. It then leaves a print on the label in a single color, often black. Thanks to this technology, you don’t need ink or pre-printed labels.

This label printer is capable of printing labels ranging from 25 to 104 mm in width and prints at speeds of up to 127 mm per second. MontaWMS specifically recommends the Zebra ZD42042 for printing labels. You can purchase the Zebra label printer yourself through Zebra’s website. This flexible 4-inch label printer is durable and also offers above-average performance features. You connect the printer to your mini PC via USB.
