Our Commitment

Since its inception in 1999, Monta has been dedicated to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), maintaining long-term partnerships with various social workplaces. Key aspects include:

  • Inclusive Hiring: At least 10% of employees are individuals with barriers to employment, such as mental or physical disabilities.
  • Tailored Workspaces: Customised workspaces and professional support ensure all employees can contribute effectively.
  • Community Collaboration: Monta collaborates with local suppliers and sponsors regional events, fostering community engagement.

Inclusive Employment at Monta

Monta is dedicated to providing opportunities to individuals with mental or physical disabilities, recognising it as a key responsibility as a regional employer. To accommodate these employees, Monta has established separate spaces and adapted workshops at various locations where they can work under professional supervision.

Key Initiatives:

  • Specialised Tasks: Employees handle specific packaging tasks, such as assembling displays, boxing cards and bagging candy.
  • Catering Management: They also manage catering at our locations.
  • Precision and Care: These employees are known for performing tasks with great precision and care.

Over the years, Monta has successfully integrated many new employees from these work groups, instilling a sense of pride in their contributions.

Physical Disability Adaptations

Adaptations are also made for employees with physical disabilities. The goal of Monta is to include these employees as much as possible in day-to-day operations and make them part of the team as a whole.

Our colleague Eric, for example, has been deaf since birth and works as a logistics employee at our warehouse in Enschede. Eric uses the 'Live Transcribe' app and lip-reading to communicate effectively with his colleagues. His desk at Monta faces the door where lorries arrive, allowing him to see everyone coming and going. Special accommodations include a connection between the doorbell and a lamp at Eric's desk, so that he is aware when someone rings. Eric enjoys his work at Monta, he says every day at work feels "like Christmas", because he gets to ‘unwrap' something every day (he works at Inbound). He appreciates that he is able to concentrate at work, making time fly by. Eric loves working at Monta, and we are lucky to have him!

Local Suppliers and Sponsorships

Monta is a decentralised organisation, meaning that each warehouse operates independently to a certain extent. This way, even though Monta is a relatively large and growing company, we can keep our services personal and flexible. We also prefer to work with local suppliers. This way, we can help local companies grow. Besides, it is more sustainable! Moreover, we sponsor many local activities, sports clubs and events that are in some way related to our employees.

Collaborations

Monta collaborates with numerous organisations; below, we highlight the partnerships with a few of these organisations and explain how we operate around our warehouses.
