How does MontaWMS’s batch picking work?
Step 1: Automatically Group Orders
MontaWMS’s smart software analyzes incoming orders and groups them based on similarities, such as identical products, similar characteristics, or locations within the warehouse.
Step 2: Choose your pick stream
You can easily choose which picking streams you want to use, such as single-line, multi-line, or bulk orders. You can set the quantities and dimensions to your liking, and MontaWMS will adjust the workflow accordingly.
Step 3: The WMS calculates the route
MontaWMS automatically plans the most efficient picking route. It takes into account dimensions, weights, and the safest walking route.
Step 4: Start picking orders
With a handheld scanner, you select a picking sequence and are immediately guided to the correct locations. The scanner shows you exactly which products to pick, where to find them, and how many units you need. Working without a handheld scanner? Simply print out a bulk picking slip that’s already been organized for you in a logical walking sequence.
Step 5: Sort and Ship
You pick the products in the specified order. The system continuously checks to make sure you’re picking the right items, which virtually eliminates errors. Once you reach the e-check station, you sort the products into the different orders, which you simply scan to retrieve and print the correct shipping label.
