Local Entrepreneurship
Our general principle is to organise things as decentrally as possible. This means we use local suppliers at all our locations, reducing unnecessary travel and transport times and fostering local business relationships. We also sponsor local initiatives involving our colleagues, from sports clubs and trips for seniors and fun fairs to local associations. All Monta employees spend half a day per year volunteering for a local charity initiative, creating awareness and fostering community involvement.
Inclusive Work Culture
At Monta, everyone works together like one big family. Differences in educational level, background, appearance, ethnicity, gender, religion or any other distinctions have always been unimportant. Everyone participates and we all need each other to succeed. Privileges for certain groups or functions, such as separate parking spaces or special offices, are unacceptable at Monta. When selecting packaging materials and delivery options, the footprint is a top priority.
Sustainable Warehouse Measures
To reduce CO2 emissions, Monta's warehouses are equipped with energy-saving measures. New buildings use environmentally friendly materials with high sustainability values and roofs increasingly feature solar panels. Lighting? LED it is! Waste? We separate our waste streams and strive to reuse as much waste as possible. Nice to know: Our warehouses in Oosterhout (NL) and Coventry (UK) are CO2 positive, meaning we generate more energy than we use at these locations.
Conclusion
Sustainability and CSR are often buzzwords confused with tax optimisations. While there are benefits to using solar panels and electric transport, true sustainable entrepreneurship is about ongoing, intrinsic motivation despite the costs. This is what Monta strives for.
