Ons verhaal
1999 — Where It All Began
Monta started as Montapacking, founded by Edwin van der Ham. The company began by packing CD-ROMs for World Online, helping people access the internet for the first time. This marked the beginning of our logistics journey.
2000 — Rapid Growth
Demand for packing services grew quickly. More and more businesses began outsourcing their fulfilment and logistics operations to us.
2006 — B2B Logistics
We expanded our services to include B2B logistics.
2012 — Full Fulfilment
We shifted our focus towards e-commerce fulfilment, including storage, packaging and dispatch. The number of Monta warehouses in the Netherlands grew rapidly.
2021 — MontaWMS
Our internal logistics software became available to businesses with their own warehouses.
2022 — DHL Acquisition
Monta became part of DHL, accelerating our cross-border expansion. We expanded into Germany with fulfilment locations in Krefeld and Mönchengladbach.
2023 — MontaShip
We launched MontaShip, a parcel service designed specifically for online shops in the Netherlands.
2024–2026 — Expanding Across Europe
We expanded fulfilment to the United Kingdom (Coventry, then Rushden) and France (Meung-sur-Loire). MontaWMS also went international in 2026 with a local presence in the UK.
